Teesside University is situated in Middlesbrough, which is a fantastic student town and perfect environment for personal development through your university journey, through your studies and the huge range of student societies and sports clubs available to choose from.

 

With independent advice and services from the Students’ Union, to 24/7 library access to suit your study needs, all the way through to the number of catering outlets across campus serving a range of different cuisines, you’ll have everything you need to enhance your experience with us whilst you study.

 

Our Student Life team are dedicated to your support needs and it’s the first place to turn if you need anything. Services include help and advice on a range of issues, including grants, loans and benefits, health and well-being, disability support, counselling and academic guidance.

The North East, and its main cities Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland, are nestled between far-reaching coastlines and adventure-filled national parks. You'll find architectural delights from Newcastle’s Grey Street – one of the finest in the country – to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Durham Cathedral. The Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens are must visits, while beaches like Embleton Bay and Bamburgh are definitely worth a road-trip.

Campus and facilities

Teesside University has student accommodation options for a range of budgets and needs, with more than 1,000 rooms on campus within a five-minute walk from the hub of university activity and classes.

 

Utility bills and high-speed internet access are included in the costs, with students signing up to a 40-week contract that covers them for term time, meaning there is no need to pay for the summer break when students have returned home.

 

It is a safe environment, with campus security on duty 24/7 and wardens living in the accommodation. The university also provides free contents insurance to cover the cost of students’ belongings in case of fire or theft. Accommodation has communal kitchens and dayrooms, while there are laundry facilities serving each of the halls.
