Janet Colledge is the real life name of @CareersDefender, who is a registered career development professional and also a qualified teacher with over 25 years' experience providing and supporting schools, local authorities, career hubs, academy trusts and other organisations to provide award winning careers education.
She runs Outstanding Careers, a successful specialist careers education consultancy. She also blogs, presents, and writes for various clients specialising in the management and provision of careers education in the 11–19 sector. She is a member of the Careers Writers Association and also a member of the Quality in Careers Standard Board
Previously she was one of 6 founder directors of National Careers Week, relinquishing her role in 2020 to concentrate on her own consultancy. A member of the CDI since its inception and former member of the CDI council.
