The UCAS Undergraduate reports by sex, area background, and ethnic group cover all applications recorded through the UCAS Undergraduate system for the universities included in the release. The reference files provided as part of the release are for comparing the results of individual universities to groups of providers – for example, to all providers located in a particular country.
Data and results on a national level are served by our End of Cycle Reports and end of cycle data resources. These provide additional guidance for using data at the national level.
In particular, the scope of the UCAS Undergraduate scheme for providers in Scotland increased in 2015 to include courses previously recruited through the postgraduate UCAS Teacher Training scheme, and there has been variability in the recording of very late acceptances from cycle to cycle.
The following data reports placed applicants from Scotland to providers in Scotland by SIMD for a subset of the UCAS data. This subset excludes placed applicants to certain teacher training courses and very late acceptances.
- Placed applicants (aged 18) in the UCAS Undergraduate scheme from Scotland to providers in Scotland by SIMD groups. Applicants placed in detailed subject group X1 (teacher training), or placed through records of prior acceptance, are not included.
