Love rock music? Love basketball? Love big nights out? Welcome to the world of clubs and socs. Run by the students’ union, they cover everything you are or could be interested in – and we have dozens and dozens of them, bringing likeminded fans, communities and cultures together in a safe space to celebrate.  

Accommodation? It’s more than just a roof. It’s the people you live with, the vibe, the place. It’s home, and it’s yours. We’ve got five halls of residence – great places to work, relax, socialise. We’ve got local private renters – flats and houses. An accreditation scheme (SASSH) to keep you safe. And a dedicated accommodation service, to solve all your problems.

Southampton’s our home, and our campus is right in the heart of it. We’ve got parks out front, all the green you could want. And the high street is just beyond. There’s food too – plenty to choose from. One of the UK’s biggest shopping centres. Cinemas. And an electric nightlife, alongside thriving arts and music scenes.

    Hello I'm Darcy and I study Media Production. Whilst studying I am trying to build up as many skills in media production as production. I hope to start up on my own as a freelance Social Media Manager. But until I do so, I hope to work on some film sets and get a feel of the busy media industry. Alongside my studies, I attend the Solent's Scuba Diving Society, where I have met new friends and joined a wonderful community. I love going to the Showcase Cinema de Lux in Southampton, its amazing! As well as having many movie nights in after a home cooked meal - on a budget of course (student life!).

    Hello I'm Alicia-Marie! I am currently studying an MA in Visual Communications to broaden my employment opportunities, to develop a wider skillset, and familiarise myself with the facilities available. Prior to my Masters, I graduated with a BA in Photography in June 2022. My plan once I have graduated is to start my own small business alongside a 9-5 job in the print/digital media industry. I am currently a student ambassador for the university, course representative for my studies, artist photographer and I work part-time in retail on my days off. I have a rather busy social life and go to a social once a week with the Spirit of Solent society! They are an amazing society and everyone is extremely friendly. I spend the rest of my time playing pool or watching the footie with the boys. please feel free to ask any questions about accommodation as I have visited most of them and lived in David Moxon for my first year. I have good knowledge of the city and things to do aswell. Outside of university, I train at the gym four days a week alongside reading a lot of nutrition and healthy eating books so I can be healthier for longer. I also read a lot of general knowledge books outside of my studies on subjects such as finance and psychology as I believe they will aid me with people skills and general life skills.

    Hi, I'm Lily! I'm currently studying BA (Hons) Post Production for Film and Television here at Solent University. I joined Solent last year in 2022 and I've had some amazing opportunities and experiences since. Video editing is one of my biggest passions, when I'm not working on short films or other side projects, I work part time as a freelance editor for social media content and I love being able to tell a story through my work. I'm hoping that after university I can use my editing abilities to support campaigns for positive change. I'm really invested in activism - especially neurodivergence and queer activism - and I run the LGBTQ+ Society, I'm also the course representative for my subject area. I love cooking for myself and my friends... although I definitely prefer cooking for myself more!
