Explore different pathways that may provide an undiscovered route your students had not considered
Historically a foundation year bridged a gap for students who were unable to achieve the academic level in their home country due to limited provision. These pathways have evolved and provide opportunity for students of all academic capabilities in a range of disciplines. The session will contain an overview of possible routes that you, as counsellors, (as well as your students and their parents) may have dismissed without getting a clearer idea of their benefits, or the values universities will place on them.
This interactive session will include Q&A featuring a student panel with international students who have progressed through a foundation year and provides opportunity for delegates to engage directly with the students.
A mini sample session of how academic skills, such as critical thinking, are developed during this transitional year will also be included.
