Summary
Research shows that fostering a sense of belonging amongst first generation BAME students can have a significant effect on overall attainment (OfS). In 2020, the University of Greenwich piloted a programme that recognised the impact of intersectionality on first-year student’s ability to thrive and survive at university. In this workshop we will explore the rationale, delivery, and outcomes of the programme.
We hope this workshop will generate ideas on how you might imbed initiatives to increase the engagement and attainment of students to enable them to reach their true potential.
