Course summary

Begin your journey into healthcare on our 2-year Nursing Associate degree course.

As a Nursing Associate, you'll be an essential part of the nursing team. You'll benefit from our simulated teaching environments and gain hands-on experience in hospital and community placements, while developing clinical expertise in medication management, health promotion and person-centred care.

Once you graduate, you'll be ready to register as a qualified Nursing Associate and well-equipped to work across a variety of healthcare settings – including GP practices, hospitals, schools and care homes. Alternatively, you could pursue further study to become a registered nurse.

You can study this course full-time at our partner college, Basingstoke College of Technology

While studying at our partner colleges, you can access our student support services and community including study support, the Students' Union and our library's online resources.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

72 Tariff points to include 2 Higher Level subjects, one of which must be in a relevant subject.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

Cambridge Pre-U score of 32, to include a Principal Subject in a relevant subject.

GCSE/National 4/National 5

GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above, or equivalent/GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4 or above, or equivalent.

T Level - Pass (D or E)

Acceptable T Level Subjects: T Level in Health (Acceptable Occupational Specialisms: Supporting the adult nursing team, Supporting the mental health team), T Level in Healthcare Science (Acceptable Occupational Specialisms: Assisting with healthcare science), T Level in Science (Acceptable Occupational Specialisms: Laboratory sciences, Metrology sciences)

Applicants must pass Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before starting the course.
Health checks
Applicants must pass Occupational Health check before starting the course.
Interview
All shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview in support of their application.
