By starting your studies at Sussex on our Foundation Year, you develop a wide-ranging understanding of the ways in which businesses work, as well as essential mathematical skills.

The Foundation Year prepares you to continue your undergraduate studies in the specialism of your choice - business and management, marketing, accounting, finance or economics.

Our experienced staff help you develop the academic knowledge and practical skills you'll need to succeed throughout your degree and in your future career.

Qualification requirements

A level - CCC

You will also need GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics, with at least grade 4 (or grade C). In addition, you will need evidence of a broad range of GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above (or grade C).

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MMM

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma should be in Business. You will also need GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics, with at least grade 4 (or grade C). In addition, you will need evidence of a broad range of GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above (or grade C).

Scottish Higher - CCCCC

You will also need Scottish National 5 in Mathematics grade C.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 27 points

Successful application for the foundation year will be evidence of academic ability in a demanding Business related degree.

-those who don't have the right combination of subjects for direct entry into Year 1
-those who don't meet the expected requirements for direct entry into Year 1
