Supporting your students throughout the exam results process

There are a number of ways you can help your students in the lead-up to results day.

Decisions and reply dates
Please make sure you and your colleagues are aware of the key dates for when your students need to reply to their offers. The majority of decisions have been made or will be made over the coming weeks, so please check none of your students miss their reply deadline.

Invitation decisions
It’s important to ensure your students reply to any invitations they’re sent. These will appear in Track, as a request to either attend an interview or audition, or to provide a piece of work or portfolio. Applicants must respond by accepting, declining, or requesting a new date. If requesting a new date, they should arrange this directly with the university concerned.

If they choose to decline an interview, the university may assume they have no interest in the course. If the interview has been declined for another reason, advise the applicant to contact the university to explain.

Still have applicants applying?
Please remember to check Apply for advisers regularly, to make sure no applications are waiting to be sent. We can accept an application with choices until 30 June 2017 – after this date, applications go straight into Clearing.

Keeping details up-to-date
Please remind your students to keep their contact details up-to-date in Track to avoid delays and ensure their application progresses as smoothly as possible.

  • Keeping contact information up-to-date in Track  This includes their home address, phone number, and email address. If any of these have changed, or change in the future, they need to sign in to Track and update them in the ‘Personal details' section. The student should then contact their chosen unis, so the unis' records can be updated too.
  • Making sure their name appears on the application exactly as it’s written on the exam entries – For example, if they’ve applied as ‘Katherine’ but on the exam papers they use ‘Katie’, it’s best to change their name on the application to avoid any confusion when the results are published. To do this, students should get in touch with us as soon as possible and we can help.
  • Changes to exam details that applicants have entered in Apply – Let us know at [email protected] straight away if any of your students’ exam details change, and let the universities/colleges know too. It's important to tell us, as it could delay the processing of the exam results if we are not updated. If results can’t be confirmed, your student might not get their place.
