Key information for all teachers and advisers supporting students on results day in 2018.
Posted Mon 11 June 2018 - 16:38

There are a number of ways you can help your students.

  • Decisions and reply dates – please make sure you and your colleagues are aware of the key dates for when your students need to reply to their offers.
  • Invitations decisions – it’s important to ensure your students reply to their invitations – these will appear in Track as a request, or be sent directly to the applicant.
  • Applications received after 18:00 (UK time) on 30 June are entered into Clearing. Familiarise yourself with all the key dates and timings for 2018 entry.
  • Change of exams – if any of your students’ exam details change, contact us immediately at [email protected], and let the unis/colleges know too. If results can’t be confirmed, your student might not get their place.
  • Qualifications entered in Apply – sometimes, they don't match the data we receive from exam boards. On Wednesday 13 June, we’ll be emailing applicants who entered AS and A levels in Apply that don’t match the details we’ve received from the exam boards. Please encourage your students to reply to the email, or get in touch with us at [email protected]. We’ll send a list of these students to their relevant UCAS registered centres on the same day.
Reminders
  • Clearing opens for eligible applicants from 5 July, and vacancies are displayed in the search tool.
  • If you subscribe to Adviser Track, you can watch how your students’ applications are progressing. Take a look at the different statuses and what they mean.
  • In case things don’t go to plan, your students can sign up for our direct contact service. By signing up, universities and colleges with spaces on courses similar to those your students have applied to, can contact them with an offer – they don’t have to accept it, but it gives them more options in case they find themselves without a place.
  • Please adhere to the results embargo you have with awarding bodies. Universities and colleges cannot discuss the status of individual applicants before examination results are released to them.
  • On SQA and A level results days, we will email advisers with a list of students who have not had their place confirmed. We are only able to offer this to centres subscribed to Adviser Track, where applicants are taking qualifications with which UCAS has a formal Awarding Body Linkage.

Access to all the information and resources you'll need for results day can be found on our Confirmation and Clearing hub.

For your students

Before the summer holidays, please remind your students to:

  • make sure they know their Personal ID and password for Track
  • update their contact details in Track – otherwise, they may miss vital updates
  • regularly check Track – this could avoid the need to call us or their chosen university or college
  • avoid being on holiday when their results are published
