Top tips for setting up Apply 2019

  1. Sign in and check your centre’s details —please email [email protected] if you need to make any changes.
  2. Confirm if you want to save last year’s staff and group names — unless you are a new centre, you’ll be able to save the details from Apply 2018 on the first page of Apply 2019, when you set it up. It’s important to do it now, to prevent you losing all the information – you won’t be able to retrieve these details later. Staff sign in details will be shown if you have chosen to transfer them when you set up Apply – please make a note of these, as they will not be shown again.
  3. Create your centre’s new buzzword — when you register your centre’s details, you’ll be asked to allocate a buzzword to give to your students – this lets them link their applications to your centre. To avoid confusion, we recommend you choose a different buzzword to the one you used in the 2018 cycle.
  4. Create a shortlist of qualifications — this helps students enter the correct qualifications, which is particularly important if there are similar qualifications to choose from. Click ‘Setup’ and then ‘Qualifications’ in the drop-down menu. Then select the appropriate qualifications delivered by your centre from the full list, and click ‘Add’ to transfer them to your shortlist. Finding it difficult to find the right qualifications? We’ve provided a list of all qualifications for 2019 entry in our ‘Setting up Apply’ guide for advisers.
  5. Keep students informed —students will be able to sign in and work on their applications from 22 May, but they can’t submit them to UCAS until 5 September 2018.
