Career management skills (CMS) survey

The International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS), the University of Derby, and Cascaid are the UK partners for an Erasmus + project (LEADER, LEarning and Decision-making resources). The focus of the project is on career management skills (CMS) and particularly in defining and testing a CMS framework with our European partners. Further information about the project can be found at www.leaderproject.eu.

Career management skills have been defined as competencies which help individuals to identify their existing skills, develop career learning goals, and take action to enhance their careers. They can typically be delivered through one to one or group activities and support individuals in establishing a set of life skills which can be applicable at any stage.

The initial part of the LEADER project is to collect views from careers practitioners, teachers, and advisers in the partner countries (UK, Spain, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Turkey) as to what they think about career management skills. We are interested in better understanding how CMS skills are currently delivered and what resources and support might be useful to practitioners within their work. This information will be used to create online tools which we will be testing out later in the project.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact Dr Siobhan Neary ([email protected]), Vanessa Dodd ([email protected]), or John Kelly ([email protected]).
