The 2022 application: Latest update

All students making a 2022 application will need to register in the UCAS Hub – from here they can access all our information and advice, as well as start a 2022 application from 18 May.

It’s not a problem at all – the option to start an application won’t be visible until 18 May. Until then they can start using their UCAS Hub to start access our information and advice.

Do my 2021 applicants access their application through the UCAS Hub? No, current 2021 applicants will continue to access their application via Apply and Track.

When the 2022 application is available, students will be able to click through to it from a tile in their UCAS Hub. One of the first questions they’ll be asked is whether they want to link to a centre – this process is the same in that they’ll be asked for a buzzword to link to you.

Once they enter their buzzword, they’ll be asked to check it’s the correct details, and given the option to join a group if you’ve set these up.

Applicants who want to link to your centre solely for a reference can do this from the References section of the application.

In the adviser portal you can sort your applicants into groups to help you manage your cohort.

These are only visible to you and your students (not universities and colleges) and they’ll be rolled over automatically for the 2022 cycle.

No – during the webinar we showed you a ‘Work experience’ section. The intention was for this to replace the current ‘Employment’ section.

The guidance surrounding what to include – i.e. only paid employment – has not changed.

Following feedback we received during the webinar, we can confirm the section will no longer be renamed, and will continue to be labelled ‘Employment’ to avoid any confusion. This will be reflected in our new 2022 toolkit from next week.

In the adviser portal, you can identify a shortlist of qualifications based on those your students take, to reduce the number of options available to them.

This can be reviewed each year to reflect new qualifications, and is shown to your students in the Education section of their application. You don’t need to include every qualification, as students will still be able to add qualifications, but it does help them identify those relevant.

Please note the ‘groups’ of the qualifications shortlist are only shown in the adviser portal, not to students.

The questions included in the newly titled ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ section are not new – as with current Apply, they’re the equality monitoring questions located in ‘Additional Information’.

These questions will only be displayed to UK home students.

Yes, when the application launches in May you’ll be able to create a dummy application as a student – just register and complete the application via the UCAS Hub with a working email address.
