Swansea University’s Student Union (SU) act as the voice of its student community as well as organising a lively timetable of events throughout the academic year.

The SU offers over 150 clubs and societies, as well as organisating key annual events including the Welsh Varsity and Summer Ball.

It's important you feel at home in Swansea, which is why there are a range of accommodation options for you to find your perfect match!  With accommodation available across four different locations, and designated areas including; quiet, single sex, alcohol free, Welsh speaking, mature, plus lots of other options, there's definitely something to suit you!

There are many advantages to living in Swansea, and its proximity to the beach is probably the most obvious. The city has several beaches within a short walk of the centre. Both university campuses are located on the beachfront, ideally placed for summer BBQs, windy winter walks, and some of the best surfing locations in the UK.

With beautiful hills and coastlines to explore by foot, bike, surfboard or zipline, Wales offers a great student experience and a wide range of universities connected to their local communities.

The country has a little of everything – historic cities like Cardiff and Swansea, pretty coastal towns, and three national parks including Snowdonia, home to the highest mountain in Wales. If you love the outdoors, you’ll be right at home.

Wales has a long history of sporting achievement, literature, and history. Perhaps you'll hear some tales over some rarebit – a traditional dish that puts cheese on toast to shame.

Campus and facilities

Each campus is a self-contained learning environment, providing an impressive range of facilities to ensure that students have the resources available at their fingertips to achieve academic and personal success.

Singleton Park provides shops, food and drink outlets, an on-campus theatre, cinema and even a museum with the most extensive collection of Egyptian artefacts outside of London. There are world-class sports facilities, with Olympic standard swimming pools, outdoor and indoor sports pitches, athletic facilities, tennis courts and a fully equipped gymnasium.

The Bay campus includes coffee shops, retail spaces, a fully equipped library, a 700-seat auditorium and its very own beach. Students comment regularly on the quality and accessibility of Swansea’s modern facilities.
