Student life

Wolverhampton is a vibrant young and lively city in the West Midlands with an exciting arts and music scene, varied eateries and social spots, and a throbbing cultural heart. At the other campuses, you’ll discover a growing nightlife and great restaurants at Walsall’s Waterfront, and food, films and live entertainment at Telford’s Southwater complex and Telford Theatre.

The University provides student accommodation with both standard and ensuite options, plus shared kitchens, social areas, utilities, internet access, and on-site laundry. On campus, the Students’ Union is run by students, for students.

There is a free shuttle bus that runs from early until late which travels between campuses. As well as buses and trams being available to explore the region, the city is on a direct train line to Birmingham (20 minutes) and Birmingham International Airport (40 mins).

Alumnus Chris Randall “The University allowed me to grow as a person and help my community – I wouldn’t change a thing!”

The West Midlands is made up of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire. Its main cities are Birmingham, Coventry, and Wolverhampton.

It’s the most diverse part of the country behind London, with a proud multicultural history, from the birth of Two-Tone music in Coventry – a combination of Caribbean ska and English punk – to the Balti curry, courtesy of Birmingham’s Pakistani community.

Once the heart of heavy industry and manufacturing, and the inspiration for Peaky Blinders, Birmingham is one of the youngest cities in Europe, with over 40% under 25 years old.
