Course summary

Explore the most significant business and economic challenges faced by governments and organisations across the globe with our BSc Business Management with Economics undergraduate programme. Delve into real-world examples and analyse the implications of economic theories in the real world.

/ Develop the business experience required for general management positions.
/ Study real examples and examine the implications of the theories explored in economics.
/ Build the skills that employers look for such as project planning, team working and self-presentation.

This programme is also available with:
Study Abroad – study with one of our partner Universities for a semester or a year.
Foundation Year – start with the fundamental areas of business and the key skill you need to study at University level.

Modules

Year 1: Digital and Business Skills, Understanding Organisations, Economic Analysis, The Future of Business, Data Analysis for Business, Business Finance in Practice.

Year 2: Professional Development, Microeconomic Analysis, International Economics, Project Management, Business Intelligence and Dashboards, Live Project in Macroeconomics. You will also choose an elective module. Please see the University's course page for more information.

On completion of year 2 you will undertake a year's paid professional placement. You will not pay fees to the University and will earn a wage for the work that you do.

Year 3: Business Ethics and Sustainability, Industrial Economics, Leadership and Management in Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Final Project. You will also choose an elective module. Please see the University's course page for more information.

Assessment method

We use different forms of assessment in different modules and wherever possible these will reflect the types of work you will do in the ‘real world’ for example, report writing, presentations and business pitches. Exams will only be used when it is a requirement for professional accreditation.

Throughout your studies, the work you produce will help to build your personal portfolio of professional evidence that you will be able to use in job applications and interviews.

We require Grade C or 4 (or above) in Maths and English GCSE. Equivalent qualifications Key Skills Level 2, and Functional Skills Level 2, are also accepted.
