This Higher Education filmmaking course will teach you the practical elements of film, television, editing and cinematography. We will teach you the skills and help you gain the confidence to progress into the film and television industry, or into higher education.

The Level 5 HND in Creative Media Production is for students who have completed the Level 4 HNC in Creative Media Production or equivalent qualification. In the HND you will continue to work on a variety of practical projects all aimed at developing your skills in a specific element of film-making.

You will continue to work with industry standard cameras from Cannon, Sony and Blackmagic Design, as well as work on professional software such as Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After effects and Dragonframe. This course will teach you the essentials of film-making utilising industry standard equipment and software in all areas of the course.

Studying for a HNC/HND is significantly cheaper than going to university and you can progress onto a degree course at university to top up your qualification to a full degree. Upon completion you will be ready to ready to enter into employment or you can apply to university to top up you qualification to a full degree.

Assessment method

The course is broken down into eight different units each exploring a specific focus of film-making. Each unit maybe assessed through theoretical essays, presentations, coursework and practical projects that you will undertake over the course of the year.
