Course summary

Accredited by the British Psychological Society, this programme enables you to test out psychological theories in real-life settings, including education, and to appreciate an interdisciplinary perspective. You will be taught by people engaged in cutting-edge research in child and adolescent development, education, atypical development (e.g. autism, dyslexia), learning and neuroscience.

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (QCF) or BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (RQF - teaching from 2016) with Distinction, Distinction, Distinction. Preferred BTEC subjects - One or more from Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, or Biology is preferred.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 33 credits M: 12 credits P: 0 credits

Pass in Access to HE Diploma with a minimum of 33 credits at Distinction and 12 credits at Merit, all from Level 3 units. Preferred Level 3 modules - One or more from Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, or Biology is preferred.

Scottish Higher - Not accepted

Scottish Advanced Higher - AAA

AAA at Advanced Highers (or AA at Advanced Higher and AAA at Higher). One or more from Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, or Biology preferred.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 38 points

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024) - A

Successful completion of the WBQ Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate plus 2 GCE A-Levels at grades AAA One or more from Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, or Biology preferred.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, D3, D3

D3,D3,D3 in three Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects. One or more from Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, or Biology preferred.

GCSE English Language and Mathematics required at grade B or 6.
