The LLB will enable you to apply for the Diploma in Legal Practice (also known as PEAT 1), the next step on the way to becoming a qualified solicitor or advocate in Scotland.
The LLB is an excellent qualification if you wish to work in other professions, particularly those related to business and finance.
In fourth year there is a range of optional law subjects, such as Sports Law, enabling you to reflect on the function of law in a wider economic, political, international and social context.

Minimum grades DMM (Distinction, Merit, Merit) plus A Level English or another literary subject* at grade C.
*Alternative literary subjects include: English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies/Government & Politics, Geography, Psychology, Sociology and RMPS. ESOL can be considered at grade A.
Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall with minimum 30 Credits at Merit & 15 at Distinction.
English or Literary unit at Level 3 or equivalent also required.
Including one of English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies/Government & Politics, Geography, Psychology, Sociology and RMPS. ESOL can be considered at grade A.

Award of Diploma with 30 points overall with three HL subjects at grades 6, 5, 5 including one of English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies/Government & Politics, Geography, Psychology, Sociology and RMPS at minimum grade 5.
Grades H2, H2, H2, H2 at Higher Level to include one of English/Latin/History/Law/Philosophy/Modern Studies/Government & Politics, Geography, Psychology, Sociology and RMPS.

HNC for entry to year 1 only - Pass in Legal Services with A in the graded unit. No Higher English Required.
HND for entry to year 1 only - Pass in Legal Services with Grades BB at SCQF Level 8 in the graded units. Must have achieved Grade B at HNC. No Higher English Required.
To include English or another literary subject (noted in Standard Requirements) at grade B, or ESOL at grade A.
