Course summary

This course is for individuals wishing to develop higher-level professional skills relevant to the electrical and electronic engineering sectors.
The programme team uses a combination of traditional classroom teaching, open learning and research-based experiential learning, laboratory experiments and demonstrations, industry standard IT applications and group activities.
The course comprises mandatory and optional units.
The mandatory units are:
Research Project
Professional Engineering Management
Further Mathematics
Commercial Programming Software*
Embedded Systems
Students will complete additional modules selected by the course team; these are:
Industrial Power, Electronics and Storage
Further Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

*Subject to demand, this unit could potentially be substituted with a unit called “Industrial Systems”, which would automatically change the qualification title to BTEC HND in Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering)
