Immerse yourself in the literature, history, art and architecture, myth and religion, philosophy, science and medicine of ancient Greece and Rome. Choose from a wide range of optional modules to tailor the degree to your interests. Study Greek or Latin language, from beginners' or advanced level, at any Stage of the degree. Enjoy exploring the outstanding collections at the University-led Great North Museum and benefit from the resources in our dedicated classical library.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma/OCR Cambridge Technical Level 3 Extended Diploma. Applicants will be considered on an individual basis.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits P: 0 credits

15 Level 3 credits should ideally be in a relevant field, e.g. classics, English literature/literature and language, history. If unable to take any of these at Level 3 a social science subject should be taken instead and evidence of reading around the subject will be required.

Scottish Higher - AABBB

Combinations of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted. Scottish qualifications can be taken in more than one sitting.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 32 points

To included three subjects grade 5 or above at Higher Level.

Extended Project

If you offer the Level 3 Extended Project Qualification in a topic relevant to the degree programme, we will vary our offer to recognise this.
