Have the experience of a lifetime, with interviews at our partners across Perthshire, including the world-renowned Gleneagles Hotel, and guaranteed placements in the local area. Enjoy a beautiful work setting in our rooftop restaurant looking across the city of Perth, and work alongside trainee chefs to create traditional and fusion Scottish recipes, fine dining menus, gastro-style burgers and a range of cuisines to offer the experience of local and international cultures.
Work closely with our Professional Cookery course, plus local and international students, to create and run every element of the themed events held in the Brahan restaurant: working on everything from the props to the room design, engage with customers and support each other as a team throughout your course. In year 2, it's your turn! Choose your theme, plan your event and run your own night as general manager, with support from the rest of your group; with recent themes as varied as Phantom of the Opera, Disney, Field to Fork, Alice in Wonderland, and the Elements, there are incredible opportunities to unleash your creativity, while gathering all of the knowledge you'll need to be a success in the Hospitality industry.

Advanced entry to year two of the degree may be possible if you have successfully completed an HNC in Hospitality Operations or Professional Cookery.
Advanced entry to year three of the degree may be possible if you have successfully completed an HND in Hospitality Management or HND Professional Cookery with Management.
Students will need Student Route visa sponsorship to study on the UK. Part-time study is not open to international students requiring Student Route visa sponsorship to study in the UK.
All prospective international students are required to participate in an information interview with UHI academic staff prior to making their visa application

This is a Top-Up Degree whereby Year 1 of the course comprises an HNC and in some cases Year 2 an HND. Courses which comprise an HN award as their first and/or second year will be charged the Higher National fee for the first and/or second year, increasing to the degree fee rate after this. Please see the course page for specific fees details. RUK students will be charged the RUK HN fee for the Higher National portion of the programme and the degree portion will be charge at the RUK degree fee, the fourth year of consecutive study on the programme is free.
EU/EEA and Swiss nationals starting their study in Scotland from academic year 2021-22, who do not have settled status, will be considered as international for fee purposes. For 2024-25, the university offered an automatic scholarship for the degree level study, with the 4th year of honours degrees free for those studying full-time, on continuous study. A decision on scholarships for 2025-26 entry is still to be confirmed.
