Course summary
The Department has an unrivalled concentration of specialists in the laws of Asian and African countries, with additional areas of expertise in the areas of comparative law, human rights, transnational commercial law, environmental law, international law and socio-legal method. Lecturers in the Department maintain close links with professional practice and frequently have first-hand knowledge of the latest developments in business, government and international organisations.

Students offering level 3 BTEC qualifications either on their own or in combination will be required to take the Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT).
Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits P: 0 credits
Pass Access to Higher Education Diploma with 60 credits overall including at least 45 credits at level 3.
A minimum of 30 Level 3 credits must be at Distinction plus a minimum of 15 level 3 credits at either Merit or Distinction.
Applicants applying for single hons or joint Law Programmes will also have to undertake the Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT).

- Law National Admissions Test (LNAT)
- Applicants with standard qualifications (such as A levels, International Baccalaureate or other High School qualifications considered equivalent to A levels) are not required to take the National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT), but the School of Law will consider making lower offers (eg AAA, AAB, ABB or 37, 36, 35 in International Baccalaureate) to candidates who do so and perform promisingly in that Test. We welcome applicants with non-standard qualifications (including Access to Higher Education Diploma and Foundation Courses) all of whom are required to take the National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT). Students offering level 3 BTEC qualifications either on their own or in combination will be required to take the LNAT.
