Applied Science is designed to provide students with the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to build a successful career in the Science sector. By developing your abilities, this nationally-recognised qualification will provide you with the strong foundations needed to progress within higher education or take your first steps towards your professional career in Science.
Modules include: Fundamentals of Laboratory Techniques, Scientific Data Handling Approaches and Techniques, Regulation and Quality in the Applied Sciences, Cell Biology, Fundamentals of Chemistry, Anatomy and Human Physiology, Analysis of Scientific Data and Information, Applied Science Research Project, Biochemistry of Macromolecules and Metabolic Pathways, Immunology, Principles of Ecology and their applications, Genetic Analysis, Microbiological Techniques, Stem Cell Biology.
Modules include: Cell Biology, Biochemsitry of Macromolecules and Metabolic Pathways, Physiology of Celluar System in Animals, Laboratory Techniques for Applied Biology, Analysis of Scientific Data and Information, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Chemistry for Applied Biologists, Project for Applied Science, Neurophysiology and Homeostasis Control of the Human Body, Applied Genetics of Industry, Agriculture and Medicine, Pharmacological Priniciples of Drug Actions, Immune Response System, Infectious Diseases, Medical Microbiology, Statistics for Experimental Design.Pearson are currently reviewing this Higher National Qualification. The HND programme is assessed through a variety of methods, from written assignments to coursework and practical investigations.
