Course summary
Computer Science has Mathematics at its foundation, and the study of the two complementary subjects allows you to study topics core to both disciplines whilst gaining an insight into how the two disciplines intersect. You study both subjects equally, and the skills you gain from both courses will make you highly employable across a range of industry sectors.

Mathematics (or equivalent) at grade A is essential.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DDD
We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications.
A Level in Mathematics (or equivalent qualification) at grade A is essential. We may also consider relevant units in your BTEC as A Level Mathematics equivalent.
Access to HE Diploma - D: 39 credits M: 6 credits
Pass Access to HE Diploma with 39 credits at Distinction and 6 at Merit or higher including Mathematics-related units.

With 6 in Higher Level Mathematics.
Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024) - A
We will consider this qualification alongside or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications, as equivalent to one A Level.
Extended Project
We recognise the value of this qualification although it will not be included as a condition of entry. It may be taken in to consideration when you receive your results.
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, D3, D3
Cambridge Pre-U Mathematics at grade D3 is essential.
OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - DDD
We consider a range of OCR qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications.
A Level in Mathematics (or equivalent qualification) at grade A is essential. We may also consider relevant units in your OCR Cambridge Technical as A Level Mathematics equivalent.
T Level
We consider a range of T Level qualifications, in combination with an A Level in Mathematics (or equivalent qualification). Please contact us to discuss your qualifications.
