Course summary

In partnership with The University of Melbourne (ranked top law school in Australia), the 4-year programme offers students the opportunity to learn both the English and Australian legal systems and to gain two degrees: A LLB qualification in English Law and Australian Law and a Juris Doctor from Melbourne Law School.

Students spend year 1 & 2 at King’s and years 3 & 4 at Melbourne. The programme provides a challenging bi-juridical education and is designed for students who seek to practice Law in England or Wales and wish to obtain an in-depth knowledge of Australian Law, or equally, those who are looking to practice in Australia and the ASPAC region.

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels. Notes: If you are taking linear A-levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component. We do not consider the EPQ at any point of the assessment process.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Access to HE Diploma - D: 39 credits M: 6 credits P: 0 credits

Access to HE Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits: 39 must be from units awarded at Distinction, with the remaining Level 3 credits at Merit.

Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 38 points

38 points overall or an aggregate score of 19 from three Higher Levels. Notes: The total point score of 38 includes TOK/EE. For applicants studying the new IB curriculum, we can accept either Mathematics – Analysis and Approaches or Mathematics – Applications and Interpretation.

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
