BA (Hons) Business Management and Criminology
Study an exciting combination of the theory, policy and practice of Criminology and criminal justice combined with key business topics such as responsible management, business ethics, innovation and globalisation.
Why choose this course?
Our Business Management modules place great emphasis on real world learning, so you’ll graduate with a wealth of practical experience. We’ll use our academic expertise to make the links between theoretical business frameworks and the practicalities of the real business world. We have links with the business community and professional bodies to enhance the practical focus and currency of this degree. Depending on your module choice you could receive Chartered Mangement Institute (CMI) accreditation to add extra qualifications onto your CV.
Our Criminology modules will provide you with the concepts, theories and methods you need for an exciting career. It’ll also support you in developing the practical skills that will ultimately allow you to participate in, and make a difference in, the criminal justice process. Our lecturers engage with organisations in the local community, nationally and around the world and many of them publish in journals, textbooks and are research active. This allows us to embed their experience and research into the curriculum.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to bring your learning to life, you can choose to take a Business Management placement between your second and third year to gain valuable experience. You could also choose to undertake internships, and you’ll work with real businesses on live briefs to grow your experience and industry connections. Our Criminology teaching team work closely with the police, courts, prisons and youth justice organisations so your teaching is enhanced by real-world learning.
Careers and employability
Our Criminology graduates have gone on to have successful careers in a range of roles in the crime and justice sector. This includes the Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the courts, the probation and prison services, youth offending teams and other law enforcement agencies. You’d also be well placed to enter roles in fields such as such as policing, probation, social research, criminal justice leadership and other public sector management roles.
Our Business Management graduates go on to a diverse range of roles in areas such as:
