Electronic & Electrical Engineering is a fascinating field, and one which could make your time at university a challenging, enriching and rewarding experience.
Electronic & Electrical Engineering is something that touches all aspects of our lives and is something we simply couldn't do without. If you like the idea of creating electrical and electronic systems which could help millions of people on a day to day basis, like the systems used in phones, computers or the generation and distribution of electrical supply systems, then a degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering is for you.
This course balances the study of electronic and electrical engineering and focuses on the application of these skills to real-world engineering situations. Study is broad enough to allow entry to a variety of career paths in all areas of electronic and electrical engineering. Additionally, students can progress to postgraduate research in this or a related field.

MMM (Merit, Merit, Merit) in a related subject. BTEC must include Maths or A level Maths must have also been achieved at grade C.
Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall with minimum 33 credits at Merit & 12 credits at Distinction. Maths and
a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject* required at Level 3 as part of the Access to HE Diploma.
To include Maths (Applications of Maths not accepted) and a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject*.

Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements
SQA Advanced Higher - BBC
To include Maths and a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject*.
A-levels - BBB
To include Maths and a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject*.
HNC - Pass in a relevant subject at SCQF level 7 with grade B in the Graded Unit. Must include the modules Engineering Maths 1, 2 and 3.
BTEC Extended Diploma - DDD (Distinction, Distinction, Distinction) in a related subject.BTEC must include Maths or A level Maths must have also been achieved at grade B.
Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements
HND - Pass in a relevant subject with grade B in all SCQF Level 8 Graded Units. Must include the modules Engineering Maths 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Minimum Year 4 Entry Requirements
Irish Ordinary Degree - Pass in a relevant subject with 50% overall with minimum 50% at first sitting in all final year subjects.
*Science/Technical subjects accepted: Physics, Engineering Science, Design & Manufacture, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Graphic Communication, Computing Science, Design & Technology.
