Course summary

Grasp new opportunities for creative music exploration and expression. Improve your performance and presentation skills, your depth of subject knowledge and application, and your critical analysis and research skills.

This course is designed to build on HND or Foundation Degree qualifications in music. It combines degree-level theoretical studies with further training in musical performance, musicology, creative sound and participatory practice. The result is a mix of academic rigour and practical skills that makes our Music course a stimulating journey of discovery, reflection and achievement.

GCSE/National 4/National 5

We also require three passes at GCSE grade C or above, which must include Mathematics and English Language; or a minimum of Level 2 Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number. If you have studied for a GCSE which has a numerical grade then you will need to achieve a grade 4 or above.

HND (BTEC) - M

HND in a subject related to music

The typical entry requirement is successful completion of one of the following:

BTEC HND in a subject related to music
Foundation degree in a subject related to music
240 credits or equivalent of a recognised UK undergraduate award in a relevant subject

We will consider applications from applicants who do not hold one of the qualifications in the list above but who do have relevant experience
