Course summary

This BSc Sport and Exercise Science (Intercalated) degree is only open to medical students in the UK who are deemed suitable for intercalation by their ‘home University’. This is usually after the intermediate/pre-clinical phase of study but variation may exist across different Medical Schools. This programme is not a ‘top-up’ course. By undertaking this degree, you will integrate with students on the final year of the ‘BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science’ degree and have the opportunity to work in the challenging sports and exercise environment, within first class sports science laboratories and sports facilities.

Entry is based on passing pre-clinical phase of medical programme, this is usually 3 years but can be 2 or 4, depending on the institution. Permission to intercalate must also be provided by the current institution via a reference.
