BSc(Hons) Sport Rehabilitation is accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) – so you can register with them once you graduate.
Combining university-based experience with extensive placement experience, you’ll learn how to provide safe and effective care to people suffering injury, illness or disease related to sports and musculoskeletal conditions.
Gain first-hand experience of providing injury assessment and management services to patients in both clinical and sports-based environments. Provide services to local sports teams and clubs, and UWE’s elite athletes in our Glenside injury clinic.
Engage with practising graduate sport rehabilitators, sport dietitians, strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and academic tutors working at the forefront of sport rehabilitation.
Complete a pitch-side first-aid qualification, as a valuable extra certification for working with sports teams.
Register with BASRaT after passing your first year, so you can start practising as a sports massage therapist. Complete a minimum of 400 hours clinical placement experience, across a variety of sport and healthcare settings. With opportunities to explore working with multidisciplinary medical teams within sport, private and public healthcare, occupational and specialist rehabilitation settings.
Graduate sport rehabilitators are in demand across the UK and due to the new International Agreement (https://www.basrat.org/internationalcertification), can now work internationally. You could work in a range of sports and health care settings including, the NHS, Ministry of Defence, Private Practice, Sport, specialist rehabilitation settings and more. Some graduates set up in private practice, or go on to postgraduate study.
