Course summary
We’re first in the Russell Group for the percentage of graduates in sustained employment or further study five years after graduation (LEO data 2021/22 tax year, published 2024). Our graduates are sought after by top employers, including EY, PwC, Deloitte, Civil Service and KPMG (Graduate Outcomes data, 2017/18-2021/22).
Our course will give you the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to evaluate complex issues and prepare you for careers in finance, consulting, public policy, or further study.

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted
A level - A*AA
Preferably including Mathematics.
A*ABB for those taking four full A levels and completing them in the same year.
GCSE requirements - Mathematics grade A (numeric grade 7), unless taking it at A level.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - D*DD
BTEC's in Business, Construction or ICT should preferably be combined with A level Maths. BTEC's in Engineering or Science do not need to be combined with A level Maths.
Access to HE Diploma
Applications are assessed on an individual basis. Where an offer is made, our standard requirements are: Access to HE Diploma 42 Level 3 credits at Distinction plus three Level 3 credits at Merit.
Scottish Higher - AAAAB
Must be combined with Scottish Advanced Highers.
GCSE requirements - Mathematics grade A (numeric grade 7), unless taking it at A level.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DD
Must be combined with one A level grade A*. BTEC's in engineering or science do not need to be combined with A level maths. BTEC's in business, construction or ICT preferably combined with A level maths.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate (first teaching from September 2016) - D
Must be combined with two A levels grades A*A (preferably combined with A level maths apart from BTEC's in engineering or science where an offer can be made without A level maths)

Must be combined with Scottish Highers.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 36 points
Preferably including Higher Level Mathematics.
We will also accept 3 x Higher Level Certificates at 766 preferably including HL Maths
Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024) - A
Must be combined with A-Level grades A*A, preferably including Mathematics.
GCSE requirements - Mathematics grade A (numeric grade 7), unless taking it at A level.
Extended Project - Not accepted
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, D3, M1
GCSE requirements - Mathematics grade A (numeric grade 7), unless taking it at A level.
European Baccalaureate - 85%
GCSE requirements - Mathematics grade A (numeric grade 7), unless taking it at A level.
LIBF Diploma in Financial Studies grade A must be combined with A-Level grades A*A, preferably including Mathematics.
We welcome applications from students without A level mathematics. Offers to students without A level mathematics are delayed until the point we have received all applications to our programmes. In the past 4 years, all students without A level mathematics (who are predicted to make our entry tariff) have received an offer.
