What you’ll do

  • Get involved with unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for civil applications and learn the principles of flight testing.

  • Our Engineering Innovation Centre enables you to work on real-world projects with commercial partners in state-of-the-art facilities.

  • Work with a range of vehicles and use different types for design, analysis, simulation and testing.

Accreditations

  • This BEng course is professionally accredited by the IMechE (which represents mechanical engineers and the engineering profession) as meeting partial fulfilment of the educational requirements to become a Chartered Engineer.

  • This BEng course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers as meeting the academic requirement for membership and registration for Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.

UCAS Tariff - 104 points

including A2 Maths and Physics or STEM at grade C. Acceptable STEM Subjects to replace Physics: Applied Science, Engineering, Electronics, Biology and Chemistry. Our typical offer is 104 UCAS Points. We operate a flexible admissions policy and treat everyone as an individual. This means that we will take into consideration your educational achievements and predicted grades (where applicable) together with your application as a whole, including work experience and personal statement.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

GCSE/National 4/National 5

5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Maths and English or equivalent. Equivalent qualifications are Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Level 3 Key Skills in Maths and Communication.

T Level - M

Including Maths and Physics. The following T Levels can be accepted for entry to this course: Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control
