Business Management (Operations) with a Year in Industry

If you are driven to understand and improve how products and services are designed and delivered, specialising in operations, e-business and management consulting, then this pathway is for you. As well as specialising in operations, this Business Management course will equip you with essential modern expertise in marketing, entrepreneurship, management consulting, finance, e-business, strategy and human resource management.

The third year of this 4-year course with a Year in Industry will be spent on placement. You will have the opportunity to gain real-world industry experience and develop your employability skill set. We have a strong network of industry contacts, and you will receive dedicated support from our in-house employability team, ranging from CV advice through to mock interviews.

Our Business Management degrees are accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), providing you with industry-focused teaching and a wealth of professional skills to enhance your employability on graduation. Our Final Year Projects also enhance your career potential, by working in partnership with real companies on real business-related issues.

In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Accounting for Managers, Key Skills for Business, Operations Management, The Global Context of Organisation, Managing in the Digital Age.

In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Information Systems, Economics for Business, Supply Chain Management, Employability Skills.

In Year 3, you undertake a One year industrial placement.

In Year 4, you will typically study areas including: Project Management, Lean Operations, International Standards, Information Technology Service Management.You will also undertake a Final year Project.

We offer a variety of assessment methods within our programmes. In addition to traditional examinations and essays, examples of alternative assessment include:

• Reflective Log
