The Certificate of Higher Education in Computer Science & Digital Technologies offers a flexible way to enter degree level education. The programme runs for a single year and allows for you to develop the core skills required by the evolving digital industry, needed to match the ever-increasing demand for skilled computer scientists. These skills may also be utilised to progress further within Higher Education and onto a Foundation degree should it suit you. Students who are not yet ready to commit to the demands of a two-year or three-year programme, this programme is the ideal step which allows for upskilling before pledging to further years of study.

The course covers a range of topics crucial to the computing industry from developing desktop applications in modern languages, designing and creating websites alongside learning the basics of networking and cyber security. As this course takes place alongside the traditional foundation degree students you will also take a module which introduces you to academic study at degree level; this module will give you the tools necessary to perform to the highest academic standards and make the most of this exciting opportunity.
