We offer a first year residential course in the Lake District. Over 4 days, students engage in an inter-disciplinary field experiment and activities that build on principles covered across Year 1 modules

Gain professional experience with external partners, including Swim England, Birmingham Royal Ballet, NHS trusts, British Gymnastics, Age UK, and The Football Association

Study Abroad at an overseas university for a year on the International Year option. Destinations include USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Hong Kong

A level - ABB - AAA

A level requirements dependent on the number of science subjects° being offered. GCSE Mathematics, English and a science at a minimum of grade 4/C. °Science subjects: Biology/Human Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Maths, PE/Sports Studies, Psychology, Physics, Statistics, Geology Some offers of ABB will be made to those applicants with multiple A levels from the preferred list and an exceptional supporting statement. Specified subjects excluded for entry: Applied Science, Citizenship Studies, Communication and Culture, Critical Studies, Critical Thinking, General Studies, Moving Image Arts, Science in Society, Use of Maths and World Development.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - D*D*D

BTEC Extended Diploma (18 units) accepted subjects: Applied Human Biology, Applied Science, Equine Management, Health and Social Care, Sport, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sport, Fitness and Personal Training, Sporting Excellence and Performance, Sports Coaching and Development. Considered with D*D*D.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 32 points

6,6,6 - 6,5,5 in Higher level subjects plus 32 points overall. Higher level subjects need to include the required subjects as defined for the A-level qualification, where applicable.

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024)

Accepted in place of a non-required A level with the equivalent grade.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

Accepted in place of A levels with the following grade equivalencies: D2 = A*; D3 = A; M2 = B. Combinations of A levels and Principle subjects are accepted. NB required subjects must be offered (see A level Section)
