Our BA International Relations degree will provide you with the knowledge to understand responses to international political, economic and social challenges since the mid twentieth century.
Choosing to enrol on our International Relations degree will give you the opportunity to study politics in regional and global contexts, examine challenges to foreign policy decision making and consider problems of security, conflict, international development and international politics of dynamic regions.
Our International Relations degree will develop your understanding of conflicts between states and their ability, or inability, to cooperate. If you are interested in going beyond the headlines on international affairs, this is the course for you.
The BA (Hons) International Relations degree blends concepts with case studies to equip you with specific methods of analysis in international relations – the kind of analytical skills that employers value.
For a full list of areas studied, see the 'What You'll Study' section of the course page on our website.
On our International Relations degree you can expect to undertake a range of assessment methods, from a journalistic piece or a book review, to a film analysis or a political simulation.
You will also complete a final-year dissertation on a topic of your own choice. If you spend the third year of your degree working or studying abroad, your degree award is worked out in the same proportion noted above, and you will additionally be eligible for a Diploma in International Studies.
