Course summary
The degree is two thirds International Business and one third German.
The International Business with a Language degree seeks to develop graduates with a global mind-set that have the necessary business and cultural skills to work in a global marketplace. All organisations are now operating in a competitive global arena, seeking to expand and develop their business beyond their national borders. Success in foreign markets requires knowledge of how to adapt to local cultures,
languages and customers as well as an understanding of fundamental business theories and practices. Global leaders ultimately cultivate cultural intelligence by travelling to and working in different cultures, developing and applying both their business and language skills. The International Business with a Language degree at Queen’s Business School provides a platform for developing the required knowledge and skills to pursue a career in our globally connected business world

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted
A level - ABB
Normally A-level German grade B or AS-level German grade B or GCSE German grade B or evidence of linguistic ability ie GCSE grade B or equivalent in any other language.
GCSE Mathematics grade B
A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
Successful completion of BTEC National Extended Diploma (1080 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) at Level 3) with overall grades D*DD.
Normally A-level German grade B or AS-level German grade B or GCSE German grade B/6 or evidence of linguistic ability ie GCSE grade B or equivalent in any other language.
GCSE Mathematics grade B/6
Access to HE Diploma - D: 24 credits M: 21 credits
Normally A-level German grade B or AS-level German grade B.
GCSE Mathematics grade B/6
Successful completion of the Access to HE Diploma with a minimum of 60 credits is required, including 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 at Level 2.
Scottish Higher - ABBBB
Separate targets are shown for Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers but offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of the two.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 33 points
Successful completion of IB with a total of 33 points including 6, 6, 5 (German) in Higher Level subjects. If not offered at Higher Level then Standard Level grade 5 in Mathematics or GCSE Mathematics grade B/6.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H3, H3, H3, H3, H3, H3
Higher level German grade H3.
If Mathematics is not taken at the Higher Level - Ordinary Level grade 03 is required.
GCSE Mathematics grade B or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University.
Note: If the language is studied at a higher level then the grade required at that level must be achieved.
