Course summary

This course will prepare you for a special and rewarding career as a midwife, helping expectant mothers on their maternity journey. You’ll learn both the theory and the practice behind pregnancy, through to childbirth and the postnatal period. You’ll develop the skills to help mothers with not only the physiological but the psychological process of childbirth. You’ll also gain an understanding in situations that are considered normal as well as training for those with more complex needs.
Throughout the degree, you’ll gain real-life experience and put your skills to practice in a variety of maternity settings. Plus, in your final year, you’ll be provided with the opportunity to showcase your proficiency by being the lead professional in the care of a mother with a low risk pregnancy. With an 100% employment success rate within 6 months of graduating, you’ll leave a confident, caring practitioner, ready for a successful career as a midwife.
