Our BA (Hons) Physical Education Primary years degree is for those of you that are interested in learning what high-quality Physical Education entails for children aged 5-11.

Apply theory to practice:
The BA (Hons) Physical Education (Primary Years) degree allows you to apply theory to practice by working with children in a variety of contexts.

Throughout this degree programme you will deliver sessions in schools, organise festivals and learn alongside primary teachers in one of our partnership schools.

These varied teaching and learning environments integrated with creative assessments provides students with an engaging and relevant programme.

On this course you will:
Gain a thorough understanding of the intricacies of physical education at primary school level.
Apply theory to practice through our dedicated work placement schemes.
Learn from experienced professionals who will look to support you through your degree.
Be prepared for a career within primary education or coaching with young children.
The need for high quality PE in primary schools is ever increasing. This has been acknowledged by the Government and reflected in the recent doubling of the Sports Premium (funding designated to enhancing quality and provision of PE).

By studying this course, you will be introduced to the primary national curriculum and to developmentally appropriate activities and approaches to teaching. Upon completion of your course, you will have a thorough understanding of what makes good teaching and good progress.

Our aim is to train employable professionals who can go out there and inspire the next generation.
