Course summary

Social Policy and Health and Social Care is designed for students with or without a professional background in social policy and healthcare who aspire to support, practice and manage transformative health and care projects in a range of environments including central and local government, the third sector, social enterprises, consultancy and business. It is also intended for professionals who want to approach leadership in care settings with a strong grasp of data-driven decision-making and practice issues which inform policymaking and governance in health and care. The course provides the knowledge and skills to navigate the changing landscape of care settings.

You will develop a sound training in subject specific skills, knowledge and professional values and practice, together with the skills required for lifelong learning so you will be well prepared for continuing development in your chosen career. There is an emphasis on the applied nature of social policy and social research that will help you thrive in a range of professional roles and make a change in your community locally, nationally or internationally across a range of exciting new roles in integrated health and social care.
