Children's nursing is a rewarding career involving caring for new-born babies in intensive care to looking after young people, whilst offering support to family members. The care they provide can span across a wide range of needs from the sick new-born baby to the young person who has a chronic disease. Wherever children require care, including their home, school, a residential setting or in hospital.

The field of Children & Young Peoples nursing enables you to develop the knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective nursing care to children and young people. This enables you to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a registered Child Nurse in a variety of health care settings. It will educate you to a high clinical, professional and academic standard ready to practice in the 21st century. This is a professional vocational award that carefully integrates theory and practice, with 50% of the programme delivered in practice and 50% within the University.

Please note: The first year of this course will be taught at Wolverhampton City Campus, followed by three years at Walsall Campus.

We would place successful applicants on the earliest start date we have available at that time. Applicants have the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list to be pulled forward as places become available.
