The Aspects of Christian Holiness pathway is specifically designed to probe deeply into the important topic of Christian holiness particularly (but not exclusively) as expressed in the Wesleyan tradition. The course work and dissertation encourage students to provide penetrating discussions on specific aspects of Christian holiness of their choosing.
The MA in Theology (Aspects of Christian Holiness) and its parallel Postgraduate Diploma course both have four course units. The Postgraduate Certificate course has two course units. These course units are structured around ten two-and-a-half hour seminars. The seminars are facilitated by specialists in the appropriate disciplines. In-depth reading, seminar presentations, group discussion and preparation of written assignments are all included within the course units.
Core module: Christian holiness in biblical perspective. Elective modules: Contextualising scripture; Christian holiness in historical perspective; Christian; holiness in theological perspective; life and ecc context of John Wesley; evangelical revivals in Britain; pastoral and social implications of Christian holiness; independent study; theology of John Wesley; Christian holiness in Pauline perspective; Christian spirituality.
