Course summary

There is a growing need and demand for Graduates qualified within the computer games sector. This programme is designed to encompass Game development with specialisms in the field of games design and games software development. The Programme enables students to gain an overall understanding of the sector then allowing them to focus in specialist areas.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MMM

Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in relevant subject. Must include Maths

Scottish Higher - BBCC

including either Maths; Application of Maths; Computing or a Science subject

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 26 points

26 points including HL Maths or Computer Science at 4

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H3, H3, H3, H3

to include Maths or Computing or a Science subject

Scottish HNC - Pass

Year 2: 15 credit HNC Computer Games Development with B in Graded Unit

Scottish HND - Pass

HND Computer Games Development with B in Graded Unit 2. The HND must include the following compulsory units (or equivalent) for both Software Development and Design streams: Computer Games Development: Object Oriented Programming; Computer Games: Programming Fundamentals and Game Technology

Foundation Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 6) - Pass

Accepted as equivalent to one Higher at grade B as part of the overall grade profile of Highers required for entry. Any essential subjects at Higher should still be achieved in addition to the Foundation Apprenticeship.

T Level - Pass (C and above)

Digital Production, Design and Development

Minimum Qualification Requirements
