Course summary

This course combines real estate surveying with valuation, planning and development. It studies how commercial property markets work and draws upon the economics of the real estate sector to gain knowledge of their operation and development. It also examines how urban planning regulates the development of property and value of real estate as investments.

During your studies you’ll learn about all aspects of property development, valuation and real estate management and develop a range of technical, communicative and interpersonal skills invaluable to your future career as a chartered surveyor.

The Honours course is fully accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and you will graduate with both an Honours degree and the means to achieve the highly regarded professional qualification of Chartered Surveyor once you enter the workplace.

A level - CCC

In addition, GCSE grade C/4 in Maths is required.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MMM

MMM (Merit, Merit, Merit) in a related subject. In addition, GCSE grade C/4 in Maths is required.

Access to HE Diploma - M: 45 credits

Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall with minimum 45 Credits at Merit. Maths required at Level 2 or above as part of the Access to HE Diploma if GCSE Maths grade C/4 has not been achieved.

Scottish Higher - BBBC

In addition, National 5 grade C in Maths is required (Applications of Maths is accepted). If you are eligible for an adjusted offer under our Contextual Admissions Policy, please see the ‘Minimum Qualification Requirements’ below.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DD

DD (Distinction, Distinction) in a related subject. In addition, GCSE grade C/4 in Maths is required.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 26 points

Award of Diploma with 26 points overall with three Higher Level subjects at grades 5, 5, 5. In addition, Standard Level Maths at grade 4 is required.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H3, H3, H3, H3

In addition, Ordinary Level Maths at grade O4 is required.

T Level - P

In addition, GCSE grade C/4 in Maths is required.

Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements

SQA Advanced Higher - BBC
In addition, National 5 grade C in Maths is required (Applications of Maths is accepted).

GCE A-level - BBB
In addition, GCSE Grade C/4 in Maths is required.

BTEC Extended Diploma - DDM (Distinction, Distinction, Merit) in a related subject. In addition, GCSE Grade C/4 in Maths is required.

HNC - Pass in a relevant subject with Grade B in the graded unit.
