This programme is a 3 year, full- time vocational training which will provide a comprehensive training across a range of dance disciplines and styles for anyone wishing to become a professional dancer. The BA (Hons) Dance Programme at Italia Conti is delivered at Italia Conti’s Woking campus.
This BA (Hons) Dance is distinctive in its combination of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance training, as well as choreography, commercial dance and aerial and tricks, which will prepare you as an intelligent, versatile and highly skilled dancer.
This course also includes a range of supporting skills such as tap, singing, acting and guest industry workshops that clearly identify it as a unique course which will ensure students develop professional level industry skills.
Structure
The course seeks to develop excellence through a modular structure that allows for individual development and specialisation in dance styles and technique, as well as a core skills delivery. The acquisition of core skills in ballet, jazz, contemporary dance, aerial and acrobatic skills provide the fundamentals for professional level dance training alongside a wider curriculum which includes choreographic principles and practices, commercial dance, tap, singing and acting, and multiple opportunities to develop dance performance skills.
This BA seeks to ensure that the core skills for employability are sustained, and the students are encouraged to view themselves as artists and content generators as well as executants of established forms and requirements. This is central to the long-term employability outcomes our graduates achieve and supports versatility.
