Vocational & industry focussed with an emphasis on practical skills, includes a one-year credit-bearing formal work placement.
On the BSc Honours Quantity Surveying programme, our students are taught by Chartered Surveyors who have extensive professional practice experience.
The course will allow you to learn the skills involved in design economics, procurement methods, cost planning and estimating, life cycle costing, measurement and quantification of construction work and contract management. We have regular guest lectures from industry experts who talk about working examples of their projects, which will give you a real feel of how the construction industry works. These strong links have resulted in our students being in high demand from industry before they graduate.
The work placement module in third year allows the students to apply the knowledge they have learned on the classroom to live projects under professional supervision. The year-out is fully credit-bearing.
This course is accredited by RICS - Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
After graduating, you can find yourself managing the finances and contracts of high-profile construction projects worldwide.
Quantity Surveyors are widely employed throughout the construction and property industries including QS consultancies, construction companies, specialist sub-contractors, local authorities, specialist tax consultants and house building companies.
