Course summary

Our new BSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation gives you the opportunity to develop the skills you need to manage innovations and digital transformations in organisations. This course will also help develop your entrepreneurial skills to support new, start-up businesses. You will learn about the theories, models and roles of management, including the management of people, together with understanding rational analysis and other processes of decision-making within different organisations. You will gain knowledge and insight into the importance of businesses innovating to change in order to survive and grow.

The course is designed to respond to the changing educational, cultural, personal and career needs of our students. After you successfully complete this BSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation, you will be ready for further study, if you wish to, on one of the master’s business degree courses at Birkbeck, such as the MSc Entrepreneurship.

This entrepreneurship and innovation degree links research expertise - showcased by our Centre for Innovation Management Research - with teaching. It also links in with a host of extracurricular support, through Birkbeck’s Enterprise Pathways, for those interested in starting or growing their own business.

You can study this course full- or part-time. You can also choose your own timetable for the core modules selecting whether to study them in the evening or in the daytime.

Foundation Year
If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree.
