Course summary

This Foundation Degree includes the study of such topics as cloud computing, concepts in software development, networks forensics, computer systems and security, and cloud architecture, all of which will provide solid foundations in understanding the new revolution in data storage and processing through a series of online services, namely cloud computing services.
We will introduce students to a selection of current technologies like cloud architecture and designing for the enterprise so to enable smooth migration of operational and IT solutions to remote cloud services. We will also introduce software and database concepts to delve deeper into the world of cloud computing and data analytics. Students will have the opportunity to use industry-standard tools and services like the ones provided by Amazon’s AWS and to develop employability skills through practical projects both in the classroom and the cloud computing platforms.
Assessment is undertaken through a range of techniques including assignment work, presentations, short tests, practical tasks, projects, and other modern methodologies.
Successful completion of the FdSc Cloud Computing can lead to a wide range of roles including Cloud Administrator, Cloud Architect, Cloud Consultant, Cloud Software (or Network) Engineer, Cloud Data Scientist, or Cloud Security Analyst.
