About this course
This Higher National Diploma helps you enter specific career paths within Construction Management, or on completion, progress to your final year of a degree here at Roehampton. This University course is approved by the Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education.
An industry-recognised qualification, known to provide the practical and problem-solving skills needed by employers, will support a fast-track entry to employment for students entering or choosing a career-change within the employment market. The course is equivalent to the first two years of undergraduate study.
During your studies you will analyse the principles of buildability in terms of health and safety, efficiency, economy, sustainability and quality. You will also be introduced to the process, techniques and underpinning knowledge required to undertake a survey of a building.
Skills
During the course you will learn to develop and apply your own ideas to your studies, to deal with uncertainty and complexity, explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation and use both theory and practice in a wide range of construction situations. Plus, you’ll be supported through your course with a friendly, committed and available team, offering wellbeing, professional, industry and career-related advice whenever you need it.
On finishing the course, you will have the confidence to enter the employment market, with a sound understanding of Construction Management and a real-world understanding of how to apply your principles to it.
Career opportunities
After completing this Diploma you will be in a strong position for pursuing senior jobs within construction management and the built environment.
You could also progress on to further study through a degree, a higher apprenticeship programme or continuing professional development.
Our careers team is available to support you from the start of your studies until after you graduate. They will help you build your CV, prepare for interviews, and meet and learn from successful graduates working at the top of their careers.
You’ll also have opportunities to work with our partners across London and beyond, and to attend a Roehampton jobs fair where you can find out about graduate opportunities and meet employers.
